LOS ANGELES -The power outage at LAX has been resolved and things are returning to normal.
There was no immediate word on what caused the outage. Department of
Water and Power crews were on the scene, but the agency has no immediate update
on the status of repair work.
Although the airfield was operating normally, LAX officials said some
departing flights could be delayed because there was no power to operate the
jet bridges. It was unclear how many flights were impacted.
Department of Water and Power officials said they had crews responding
to the airport, but there was no immediate estimate on when electricity
might be restored, or on what caused the outage.
There were reports that the outage was also impacting businesses and hotels along Century Boulevard east of the airport.
Power outages are affecting some terminals and traffic signals at
Los Angeles International Airport, but airport officials say flight
operations are continuing as normal at the moment.
However, airport officials say security screening
has been halted in most terminals, so passengers are being advised to allow for
extra time.
